I’m embarassed to say that, after living in Simsbury for the last 6 years, this past weekend was the first time I have ever visited Rosedale Farms! And what a treat I was in for! It just so happened to be one of their wine tasting days, so Steve and I chose a red and a white (Rosedale Farms offers several unique handcrafted wines), grabbed a bag of locally made blue corn chips and fresh locally made salsa, and some drinks for the kids, found a picnic table, and indulged ourselves. I’m not a big wine drinker, but I found both the Simsbury Celebrates white wine and the Lou’s Red red wine to be refreshing and delicious (so much so that we bought bottles to bring home)!
After our snack, we explored the farm, walking down rows of red, green and purple grapes toward the barn and admiring the field of sunflowers. We then made our way back to the store to purchase fresh picked vegetables with which to make our own salsa, and to peruse the local wares.
Have YOU discovered Rosedale Farms? This fourth generation family farm is located in Simsbury at 25 East Weatogue Street. I highly recommend that you visit!
